Review: Kiss My Face Olive Oil & Green Tea Soap

A Natural Moisturizing Soap. We combine rich Olive Oil, used for centuries to nourish and moisturize the skin, with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and soothing green tea. It’s simple and pure. This moisturizing bar was created without animal ingredients, artificial colours, unnecessary chemicals or animal testing.

I am not normally one for using bars of soap. I prefer a loofah and body wash. However, there was a time where I went through a pretty big Lush phase and I loved their natural soaps. So I figured I would give the Kiss My Face soaps a try. I brought this soap on vacation with me because I figured a moisturizing soap would be good for my skin after long days in the Sun.

Kiss My Face offers 6 different scents of their Olive Oil Soap, in either 4 or 8 ounce sizes costing $3 and $4 respectively. All of KMF’s soaps are free of artificial dyes, parabens, SLS and gluten.

What I liked most about this soap was the scent. The grassy, green tea scent reminded me of the time when I worked in a tea store. Unfortunately, I didn’t like much else about this soap. It didn’t really lather, and it left my skin feeling very dry. It did a good job at washing away the sunscreen, sand, and sweat from the day but it didn’t replenish any moisture, my skin felt stripped. I moisturized double time while using this soap.

Another downside to this soap was how mushy it got. About half the bar turned to mush from the heat and steam of the multiple showers had in that bathroom during the day. Even though the bar is only $4, if half of it is mush and washing away then it can get expensive to consistently purchase it.

After a week of use I had lost half the bar due to melting and my skin did not love the effects of this soap. If I didn’t like it in a week I knew I wouldn’t like it over a longer period of time, so I left it in Florida. If I am going to start using bar soaps again then I will probably go back to Lush as I know my skin likes their soaps.

  1. I'm not a fan of bar soaps either, I find them too drying. Too bad this one didn't work out.

  2. Agree, most bar soaps aren't great but the Lush ones are amazing!
