Dollarama Deals #1

Up until a year ago, Dollarama was just a place I went to for cheap candy, inexpensive holiday decorations, and discount office supplies. It seems like overnight, it became a place to go to find brand name beauty and personal care items for way below retail prices. I have been going to Dollarama at least once a week now, and I've decided to start documenting my finds.

In these posts I will show pictures of products with their Dollarama price, compared to their regular retail price. Hopefully, you will be able to find some of these products at your Dollarama, and start saving yourself some money on the everyday essentials.

Disclaimer: Not all Dollarama's sell the same products. What I have at my store, you are not guaranteed to find at yours. Compared prices are mainly sourced from Well.ca and Walmart.ca/com.

Garnier Body Intensive 7 Day Conditioning Lotion

This Garnier Body Lotion is one of my all time favourites for battling dry skin. Dollarama sells the 400mL bottle for $3 compared to Well.ca's price of $7.49.
Savings = $4.49

Nicole by OPI Nail Polishes

I've only recently started purchasing Nicole by OPI polishes and they have quickly become some of my favourites. Dollarama sells them for $3 compared to Walmart.com's price of $7.
Savings = $4.00

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color

I've never owned a Maybelline lipstick, but the price on these will allow me to purchase 3 for the price of 1. Dollarama sells for $3 compared to Well.ca's price of $8.49.
Savings = $5.49

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

They say a tube of this mascara is sold every 3 seconds, and that's about how much time it took for me to see it and throw it in my cart. Dollarama sells for $3 compared to Well.ca's price of $6.45.
Savings = $3.45

L'Oreal Paris Wear Infinite Eyeshadow Quad

I've previously purchased one of these quads and was quite surprised by the pigmentation. Dollarama sells for $3 compared to Well.ca's price of $12.
Savings = $9.00

ELF Natural Lash Kit

Although ELF products are slightly more expensive at Dollarama, they are a good deal because you save the shipping and duties you would normally pay if you ordered from the website. Dollarama price $1.50 compared to ELF.com price of $1.00
Savings = -$0.50

OPI Pure Lacquer Nail Appliques

I am a huge fan of OPI and nail stickers, but I would have never paid full retail price for them when they first came out. Even now when they are discontinued Dollarama sells them for $2.50 compared to Sephora.com's price of $7.
Savings = $4.50

If I was to purchase all of these products at their retail price I would have spent $49.43.
Dollarama Total = $19.00
Total Savings = $30.43

Have you ever shopped at Dollarama for beauty products, if so what are your most surprising finds?

  1. Yes! I have been looking forward to this post. Clearly the Dollarama's in my 'hood suck. I never find anything cool, except for some acrylic lipstick holders. I hope this becomes a monthly theme!

  2. Thanks for the enthusiasm Julie! I've been pretty lucky to have Dollarama's that carry the good stuff. Like that one week I saw actual OPI polishes for $3 each! I bought one of those acrylic lipstick holders lol. I'm actually going to make this a weekly post just showing a few new things I see there each week :)

  3. This is so much fun! I am always so tempted by Dollarama but I am not supposed to buy anything so I have to stay away...

  4. I *love* going to Dollarama! For everything, really. But I've picked up so much cheap, awesome nail polish (like you said, real OPI!) for such a great price...and they have adorable little makeup bags, acrylic holders...augh. I could gush about that store forever. The kid basically thinks two stores exist -- we play "you work at Shoppers Drug Mart and I work at Dollarama. Let's shop!" a lot.

  5. I love Dollarama! I haven't seen any Maybelline products in my local store, but I have seen the other deals you posted. I also got a Nivea body wash for $3 that is awesome. Also, my son calls Dollarama "his store" since I never feel bad about letting him pick out a toy when we go.

  11. So jealous about the NOPI and OPI products! Not that I need any more nail polishes, but for that price it's great! I'll need to stalk other Dollaramas in town to see what they have.
