Lined & Defined Part #2 with Annabelle Cosmetics Instaglam Eyeliner & Mascara Touch Up

I'm trying to be trendy this year...as in I'm trying to adopt the trends while they are "in" opposed to my normal course of action, which is to rock a trend when it is no longer trendy.
 
According to a wide array of fashion magazines, a few beauty trends for Fall 2014 are graphic liner, lashes, and adding pops of colour to your look. Well, the Annabelle Instaglam Eyeliner & Mascara Touch Up in Psychedelic will help me and you achieve all 3 of those trends.
 
This one product offers a black liquid eyeliner at one end, and a coloured mascara at the other, all in convenient sleek packaging that's perfect for on the go. Retailing for $12.95, this product comes in 3 mascara shades: Psychedelic - purple, Abyss - blue, Black Star - black.
 
The eyeliner is an oversized marker-pen with a felt-tip applicator designed for ultimate precision, control and versatility. The perfect tool to achieve thin natural lines to dramatic shapes in one stroke.

The mascara totes a small brush for ultra-precise and flexible application, wrapping even the tiniest lashes. Perfect to intensify your look by using on lower lashes and last minute touch-ups.
 
Of the duo, the eyeliner is definitely the more impressive of the two products. The applicator makes it easy to apply thin or thick lines. The formula is ultra pigmented and opaque in one swipe and dries quickly. Once set it does not budge.
 
Although, I love purple and the concept of coloured mascara, I am not a fan of how it looks on my lashes. I feel it makes me lashes disappear if used on the top and bottom lashes. The formula of this mascara is good regardless of the colour, it reminds me of the BIG SHOW Mascara. In the future I will only be using this purple mascara on my bottom lashes.
 
Overall, the quality of this product is great. Although I'm not a fan of the coloured mascara, I would repurchase just for the eyeliner.

I created my own graphic liner look to showcase this product. This isn't a look I would sport in public, but it is fun to play around with makeup in the confines of my room.

Review: Revlon ColorStay Skinny Liquid Liner in Black Out & Mahogany Flame

These 0.1mm skinny tip liners provide bold, even colour in one stroke that lasts all day. They are easy to apply with mistake proof control.

Revlon has created more eyeliners for Summer 2014 with the Revlon ColorStay Skinny Liquid Liner. The felt, ultra-thin tipped liquid liner comes in four shades. Today I will be showcasing Black Out and Mahogany Flame.

I love liquid liner and have tried quite a few different ones, but this is by far the thinnest one I’ve ever used. The tip is a bit flimsy and requires some extra effort and time to get a perfect flawless application. For me this liner would perform better if the tip was a bit stiffer. Although with precise application it does produce an ultra thin line; if you are not careful the flimsiness of the brush can make product go everywhere and you are left with a thicker line, and a mess.

Black Out is a pure black, while Mahogany Flame is a gold flecked metallic brown. Both liners apply opaque in 1 coat, and last the majority of the day without wearing off or transferring to my eyelid. A major downside I had with these liners is that it takes a while to completely dry. Because I have semi-hooded eyelids, that means I have to keep my eyes shut until the formula dries or it gets all over the place. This is really not a step I have time for every morning.

Overall, I enjoy the final result of this liner, when I have the extra time to put into application. I just wish the tip was less flimsy and it took less time to dry. If you are new to liquid liner, I would steer clear of this product. I definitely feel that it is for the more advanced liquid liner users.

Be a Bombshell Lash Out Mascara

A rich pigmented mascara with a lengthening formula that offers a multidimensional look.

I love getting this brand in my Ipsy bag and I have never been disappointed by anything I’ve received. This product is full size, and reasonable priced. The mascara wand looks somewhat plain, but I have high hopes for this product. I can’t wait to try this out!

It is the perfect consistency; just everything about it is perfect. I’m hooked and will be buying more of these in the near future.

Jesse’s Girl Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

This true black liquid liner creates a bold, precise, ultra-fine liner that’s both waterproof and smudge-proof. The unique calligraphy-style brush allows you to create lines as thin as one millimeter.

I love the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner, and the brush of this liner looks identical and also provides the same pigmentation. I need to test out this liner a bit more, but I think I have found a cost effective dupe for my Holy Grail liquid liner.

Olehenriksen Truth-To-Go Wipes

Cleanse, brighten and hydrate your skin with out best-selling truth to go wipes. Our thick gentle cloths remove dirt and makeup in one easy step while imparting anti-aging anti-oxidants.

I could always use more cleansing wipes, and these came in a convenient travel size package. I’ve heard great things about the Olehenriksen products so I can’t wait to try these out. They are fairly expensive at $1 per wipe so I hope they work wonders.

Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray

Sample Value – 1.52oz/$3.18

Create natural, effortless, beach hair worn loose, soft, and wavy. It adds body and texture to straight, fine strands or pumps up the curl in already wavy hair.

First of all this product smells amazing! Like they captured the essence of the beach in a bottle, with a mixture or coconut, sunscreen, sand, and salt water. It is absolutely divine and regardless of whether this product worked or not I would spray it in my hair just for the scent.  The good thing is that this product actually works and makes my hair look textured but not crispy. I’ve tried it on damp and dry hair, and prefer the effect it creates on damp hair. It amplifies curls and waviness without weighing down my hair or making it greasy. I will be repurchasing this product all year round.

Overall, I am really impressed with the products I got in this months bag. They are all generous sized samples of products that I have never tried, but so far have proved to be ones I will repurchase. The total value of my June 2014 Glam Bag is $39.16.

Review: Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner in The Real Teal, Gold Metal, Hello Violet, & Blue My Mind

Providing intense colour pay-off, these fun versatile shades add a pop of gorgeous for eyes that light up with high impact colour.

I like liquid liner because it gives me a bold, pigmented line that helps enhance my eye shape and make my lashes look fuller. During the week I usually wear black or brown liner to work, but on the weekend I love to experiment with more colourful options. These new May Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliners will help you achieve some bright pops of colour.

These new liners retail for $12 per 0.11fl.oz, and come in 4 eye catching colours - Gold Metal, Blue My Mind, The Real Teal, and Hello Violet. These liners tote a flexible, pointed, sponge-like applicator. Although the shape and flexibility allow for thick or thin lines, I find it harder to work with compared to a marker type applicator.

The formula of these liners is very wet. I find when applying that the first layer is kind of sheer in the center of the line. If you can tell from the swatches the outsides are more pigmented than the center. I have to go back in with a second layer to make sure colour dispersion is even. The applicator picks up a bit too much product. The bottle stopper could be a bit smaller to catch more product. Once these eyeliners set they are there to stay. There is no fading or flaking. They remove easily with makeup remover.

The Real Teal and Gold Metal are pure metallic, Hello Violet is slightly metallic, and Blue My Mind is more of a cream. I found that the purple and blue were a bit sheer and required more layers to achieve an opaque line.
