Review: Mary Kay Journey of Dreams Eau de Toilette

Review Mary Kay Journey of Dreams Eau de Toilette
Dreams. They provide the power to overcome obstacles, achieve the impossible and transform today into a beautiful new future. Now you can spread hope, inspire change and encourage possibilities with the purchase of the limited edition Beauty That Counts Journey of Dreams Eau de Toilette.

I'm not very adventurous when it comes to perfume. I have the ones I like and I stay loyal to them. My current favourites are all a mixture of floral and fruity that is good for day or night. I loved the packaging of this perfume as soon as I saw it. Continue reading to see if I loved the scent at first spritz.

Mary Kay's Journey of Dreams comes in a simple green tinted glass bottle, housed in a white box decorated with gorgeous watercolor butterflies. I wish the box design traveled to the bottle. This perfume provides a light and fresh scent with notes of Sparkling Clementine, Rose Lychee Water, Plush Peony and Blooming Turkish Rose.

I was pretty wary about trying this perfume because I have a sensitivity to roses. I'm not full blown allergic, but I've been to the Emergency Room because I sat next to a vase of roses for too long. I tried it anyway, and was met with quite a strong scent even though this is only an Eau de Toilette. The first thing I smelt was the roses mixed with other florals. I was hoping it would dissipate quickly, but it stayed strong for the majority of my work day. Later in the day I noticed the fruity aspects of it coming out and quite liked the scent of it then.

Unfortunately, this perfume caused me to get a headache. I really wished I had brought a different shirt to work to change, because my headache just kept getting worse. I contribute my headache to the fact that I get headaches when within the vicinity of roses, so anyone else will probably not get one. For an Eau do Toilette the lasting power of this perfume was very impressive. A little goes a long way, so the small amount in this bottle will last you a long time.

This perfume retails for $35 per 1 fl.oz/29mL. From May 16th - August 15th, $2.50 from each Journey of Dreams purchase will be donated to The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation to support women living with cancer through the Look Good Feel Better program and to help end violence against women by providing grants to women's shelters and community outreach programs. This program is near and dear to my heart as my Mom is a cancer survivor and I've attended these LGFB classes with her before.

  4. It's too bad about the rose scent because the rest of the scent sounds wonderful. I'm not much for floral scents either so I don't think I'd be a fan of this one.
