Review: Eco Tools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge

I know this may sound weird, but I really enjoy washing my face. There is just something about taking some “me time” and thoroughly cleansing and moisturizing my skin. I normally wash my face using my hands, but every once in a while I like to use a product that really deep cleans and give me a bit of exfoliation.

When I was sent the Eco Tools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge to try, I was very intrigued. When you first open this product it is quite hard; I worried that it would be too exfoliating. However, upon using this I found that it is really gentle. It is almost too gentle and I wish it was more exfoliating.

Pure Complexion Facial Sponge is made with 100% natural ingredients, including Konjac vegetable fiber.

Treat your skin to a gentle, yet better clean – just add your favourite mild facial cleanser and water! Wash away dirt, oil and makeup and leave skin glowing without over-drying or causing redness. Sponge is fragrance free, colorant free, dermatologist tested and gentle enough to be used morning and night.

For best results, use sponge daily. After each use, simply rinse sponge with water and let air dry. Taking care of your sponge will help it last longer. Replace every 1-3 months.
The shape of this sponge is ideal for use on your face because the tip is good for cleansing around your nose. I found that it amps up the lather of your cleanser and you really achieve a great clean while using this. Although it doesn’t appear to exfoliate much it does enough that my skin felt extremely smooth after using. I used it all over my face and down my neck and got the same clean that I do whenever I use my Olay Fresh Effects Cleansing Brush.

The only downside to this sponge was that it took forever to rinse the makeup and residual cleanser out. Just when I thought it was good, more suds would make their way to the surface. It takes quite a while to dry, as well. Twenty-four hours went between uses and it still was not 100% dry.
Overall, I really enjoy using this sponge and will continue to do so over the next 1-3 months until it is time to replace it. This sponge retails for $11.99 which is a bit steep, so I’m not sure if I am going to repurchase at this time. If I do decide to repurchase I’m going to buy the charcoal infused deep cleansing one.
